Production/Publication Officer - Intel Community Experience

DGS is currently seeking a talented Production/Publication Officer to support our Team located in Washington DC.  


Responsibilities and Duties  

The Production/Publication Officer provides substantive editorial and tradecraft reviews of Customers products to ensure compliance with ODNI analytic standards pursuant to IRTPA and ICDs 203, 206, and 208.

Duties and functions include, but are not limited to:

  • Edit, format, and facilitate the publication of periodic intelligence products and briefs for senior policy, IC, and programmatic customers.
  • Review product source materials, and apply IC writing standards, critical thinking skills, and expertise in grammar, punctuation and copy editing to identify and resolve editorial issues in complex text and graphics.
  • Review product source materials to ensure products accurately cite relevant text and are properly classified based on cited material.
  • Support analysts and technicians with production elements, to include stylistic and graphical support to more effectively convey technical information to senior U.S. government executives and non-technical audiences.
  • Monitor and update production trackers, and usher the production coordination process to achieve deadlines.
  • Support the production and dissemination to the customer workforce of analytic tradecraft-related reference guides, newsletters, briefings, and other training materials.
  • Assists with the preparation and posting, archiving, and recall and revision of customer products to InfoCenter, EnergyCenter, the Library of National Intelligence, and the Capitol Network.
  • In coordination with the Production Manager, serves as assistant curator and content manager of the Customer Cyber Threat Intelligence Production website.
  • Supports scheduled and ad hoc ODNI and other IC and Customer analytic production-related data calls and metrics-gathering exercises.


Required Skills

  • The Individual must have strong writing skills and demonstrated capabilities to edit, format, and publish frequent technical reports. 
  • Individual must have knowledge of U.S. Intelligence Community (IC) standards and tradecraft related to the publication of finished and raw intelligence products. 
  • Individual must manage multiple projects concurrently and efficiently, adhering to tight time lines and strict quality guidelines.
  • Individual must be able to review product sourcing to ensure material is accurately presented. 
  • Individual must be able to logically organize technical information in oral and written formats for senior U.S. government executive audiences, and work well in a team environment to support analysts and technicians in their cyber intelligence missions. 
  • It is preferred that the individual have demonstrated experience in electronic publication and design, to include experience in current web publishing technologies and the creating of graphics, tables and other visual elements to convey information. 
  • Must have a current TS/SCI clearance or have the ability to obtain one.

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university is required, and advanced degree is preferred. 
  • This requirement may be waived if the individual has demonstrated a minimum of 5 years in the intelligence production field.
