Cyber Threat Analyst

DGS is currently seeking a talented Cyber Threat Analyst to support our Team located in Washington DC.  

Responsibilities and Duties  

To serve as a Cyber Threat Analyst, duties and functions include, but are not limited to:

  • Review and assess network traffic from various sources to identify anomalous behavior and cyber threats on Information Technology and Industrial Control System networks.
  • Identify, investigate and analyze cyber events of intelligence significance.
  • Collect data, analyze results, and prepare raw intelligence products relating to cyber mission objectives.
  • Generate oral briefings of findings for senior government officials utilizing accepted Intelligence Community tradecraft and methodologies accepted by management.
  • Participate in cyber operations designed to pursue anomalies or cyber threats on Information Technology or Industrial Control System networks.
  • Provide consultation and input to innovative efforts to develop advanced tools, techniques and procedures to identify, understand, and support mitigation to cyber threats to the Customer and U.S. Energy Sector networks.
  • Collaborate with key government partners and stakeholders, including Customer Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO), NNSA OCIO, Customer Office of Electricity Delivery and Energy Reliability (OE), and the USIC.
  • Perform other cyber intelligence-related duties, as assigned.

 

Required Skills

  • Individual must possess a minimum of 5 years of experience analyzing network traffic to identify and assess cyber threats and anomalous cyber behaviors.
  • The ideal candidate will have keen understanding of network structure and behaviors within Information Technology and Industrial Control System environments. Individual must have demonstrated experience working with cybersecurity tools and software designed to identify and alert analysts to cyber anomalies.
  • Individual must have demonstrated ability to utilize the most advanced cyber security tools and analysis practices to support the Foreign Intelligence assessment mission. 
  • Individual must possess excellent verbal and written communications skills, and have experience presenting technical information in oral and written formats to senior U.S. government executives.  Individual must also function as an integral part of a team’s mission activities to detect, deter, and neutralize cyber threats against Information Technology and Industrial Control System architectures. 
  • The individual must be capable of working under pressure to meet short deadlines, and have knowledge of the mission, structure, policies, and key intelligence programs of the U.S. Intelligence Community as they affect Customer and U.S. Energy Sector equities. 
  • Must have a current TS/SCI clearance or have the ability to obtain one.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university is required, preferably in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field. 
  • This requirement may be waived if the individual has demonstrated experience in the cyber intelligence analysis field.
